Lyra and Myla's mother was The Chosen, the eldest granddaughter of Seron Nobleblood, the late Champion of Dalfeed, god of that world. Her eldest child would carry on the name and the terrible responsibility that came with it - when it was time.
She had twin girls, whom she named Lyra and Myla. Who their father is has never been revealed. The girls grew up in the capital city, Niel, of the largest country, Yaran, near the palace of the Emperor and his council. They were normal, happy children. Lyra was the mischief maker and Myla was the one smart enough to get them both out of trouble.
Their time came all too soon. When the girls were six, a great Dark beast descended on the Palatial Grounds. Their mother went to fight it - and used all of her power to destroy it. With the last of her strength, she passed the terrible birthright onto her daughters.
A Chosen normally has six stars on their palm that represent Strength, Speed, Wisdom, Justice, Purity and Sacrifice. Three stars went to each girl: Strength, Wisdom, and Purity went to Myla and Speed, Justice and Sacrifice went to Lyra. Each also received one of the two magical weapons of the Chosen: Myla got the Starlight Bow and Lyra the Starlight Sword.
The girls grew up as wards of the Emperor, in the Palace, and trained with the priests and the warriors. Lyra was always in trouble, and Myla always got her out of it, as they had done as kids.
The Emperor is as proud and protective of them as he would be of his own children. They attend Council meetings, where Myla is generally very quiet. When she does speak though, her ideas are expressed logically and are very well-thought out. Most of the Councilors are inclined to agree with her opinions as well.
Myla is dutiful in her prayers and meditations, and very serious about weapons training, but if she had had her choice, she would not be Chosen. Myla has never wanted more in life than a happy family; having no father and her mother killed at a young age has left Myla very protective of Lyra, and also of the Emperor, who has been a surrogate father to them both. Sweet of temperament, she is an avid reader and generally a bookworm.
She is devout in fighting the demons who stole her mother away from her and cursed her with this birthright she did not ask for. She is merely awaiting her opportunity.
