Jordan as a child was a precocious bundle of mischief - VERY precocious. Jordan's parents both being intelligent people, Jordan couldn't help being bright. He brought home exemplary report cards with glowing comments from his teachers (whom he deliberately charmed) but was nonetheless well-versed with the various punishments meted out by his parents (usually his mother).
The mystical armor (yoroi) of Tenku, armor of air and wisdom, was Jordan's birthright, and his mother, who had literally had the armor thrown into her lap when she was about twenty years old, began training him for it as soon as he was old enough to walk. Therefore, Jordan learned archery (Tenku's weapon being a bow and golden energy arrows) and various martial arts. When Jordan got in fights in school (a growing occurrence as he got older and developed a sense of right and wrong - he would stand up for kids in the schoolyard a lot), if he came home with a black eye, he'd be made to do extra training, not as punishment for fighting, but because it was obvious that he had not fought well enough to avoid being hurt.
Kivrin and Inazuma were otherwise fairly hands-off parents, but the armor was Kivrin's sore spot, and the only way she could protect her son was to ride him hard and make him as ready for it as she could.
Jordan grew up with computers and books as well as bows and kicks. His mother being a well-known writer, Jordan soon developed a flair for language, both Japanese and English. Equally fluent in both, he is incredibly eloquent, clever and witty no matter which tongue he uses. When Jordan finally stopped thinking of girls as cootie carriers and began thinking of them as pretty, sweet young things, this gift served him in quite good stead.
Jordan grew from a sweet-faced boy into a good-looking man, his training shaping his upper body especially. His left ear has a gold hoop earring in it, his uniquely hued hair (not dyed) is shoulder length and usually just the sort of mussy to make a woman want to reach up and try to finger comb it out. His clothing is usually fairly reserved though; his main weapons in the battle of the sexes are his intellect, imagination, and flirtatious phrases, which come as easily to his lips as breath.
Jordan's best friend growing up was Hiasobi Mouri, a freckle-faced boy who claimed to see "Tenshi" - Angels. No one else believed him, except for Jordan. Jordan's reasoning behind this was that if he (Hiasobi) were honestly just making them up, he would've stopped as soon as he'd gotten teased about it. Since Hiasobi INSISTED the Tenshi were real despite the horrific teasing and bullying visited upon him for it, Jordan decided that they were real. Hiasobi was actually three years older than Jordan, but quite often it was Jordan defending Hiasobi - with words anyway. Not that the two didn't get into fights; in fact, they often fought each other. They were rather fond of wrestling.
When Jordan was about 9 or 10, Hiasobi decided he was in love with his best friend. Nothing was helped by the fact that it was about this time Jordan discovered girls' charms instead of thinking of them as walking horrors. Jordan showed off for and charmed the girls while Hiasobi was merely his friend.
Hiasobi finally owned up to Jordan that he was gay without going further. Jordan had no problems with this, and continued dating. He began working at a small comic book store named merely "Mangaya" - "Comic Store". Jordan had always loved comics, trading cards, role-playing games and the like - "Nerd Culture" if you will. A couple of years later Jordan was taken for reading glasses, only for use for long stretches of reading.
Despite all these stigmas of "nerd-dom", Jordan became increasingly popular with the opposite sex; his smooth flattery and quietly cool clothing went a long way. Girls flocked to Jordan, and he was beyond happy with that. Despite all of his romantic speeches though, Jordan went through a girlfriend a month, sometimes sooner. None of them were quite what he was looking for - what that was, he was never quite sure. A few of them dumped him when they discovered that the gorgeous hunk didn't put out: Jordan had been taught by his parents that while sex without love was possible, sex WITH love was preferable. And Jordan, having had perfection drilled into him by his mother, would never settle for second best.
Finally, Hiasobi set Jordan up with a friend of his, Ami, affectionately called "Ami-Chan" by both of the boys. Ami, being the perceptive woman she was, dumped Jordan after a short while and told them that he should just tell Hiasobi that he was in love with him. Jordan naturally went over to Hiasobi's to discuss the break-up, and Ami-Chan's reasons for it, and before the end of that night had realized that Ami-Chan had it right: he WAS in love with Hiasobi. He'd merely been looking for a female Hiasobi all along, and he decided that being female wasn't really all that critical.
Since then the two have been an inseparable couple. Jordan moved in with Hiasobi. He still flirts with women, and still appreciates their "charms", but he only loves his long-time friend, "Sobi-kun". Ami-Chan is still a friend of both boys, and often the mediator in their occasional spats.
